New data on indoor dining has been released by the CDC:

CDC Observes Link Between COVID-19 Spikes and Increased Dining Out: The findings don’t prove cause and effect, but the statistically significant patterns are in line with previous studies and expert advice.

CDC Report: Universal masking and avoiding nonessential indoor spaces are recommended to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

 

A couple wins for workers over the last month: 

 Wild Goose Workers Win Wage Complaint: The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment’s Division of Labor Standards and Statistics has ruled against Russ Ware and the Wild Goose Meeting House in a wage complaint brought by former Wild Goose bartender.

Excelsior, Detroit Lakes restaurants pay back employees after illegal tip pooling: The restaurant agreed to pay back 10 workers in amounts that range from $281 to $16,000. 

The effort to unionize vegan LA doughnut shop, Doughnut Friend, goes public. Donut Friend employees seek voluntary recognition of union. Be a friend to Donut Friend United here.

DoorDash is at it again! And again! 

The Independent Restaurant Coalition bought one of these spots because of course:   Doordash spent $5.5 MILLION to advertise their $1 million charity donation.

Also, the Doordash grants are not quite what they seem.

The DSA just launched their Pro Act Campaign: Passing the PRO Act would would strengthen unions, the power of the working class to organize on the job, and our collective capacity to win a just transition to a green economy for all.
